This is the first of a series of three ceremonial pieces based on myths and birds. The ones in black and white were first designed for steel. The design was negative in that it was cut out of the plate.

Garden of Eternal Delight
Measuring 12" x 18" this is the only piece so far that has been sold east of the Mississippi river. With it came a change of style, the suggestion of fabric on a canvas background.

Original design came from watching the sea weed off the coast of Lopez Island.

Sometime graphics are interior feelings expressed in forms. This is one of those. It isn't that the piece itself doesn't says something but more that each element says something. It's a language where there are no defined meanings.

I like the feeling of movement, of forms twisting, of something reaching out as if an invisible something is filling in the spaces. I like it when obvious meanings are not clear. Where what is, is.

This piece explores how elements of a scene join to create patterns. I also find the piece tremendously symbolic.
